A special feature of the village is, without doubt the tank monument. On the 1st of May 1975, the solemn inauguration of the monument, consisting of a tank and obelisk for the victims of the 2nd World War, took place. The tank, a T 34/85, built in 1943, was in such good technical condition, that it could drive onto the designated plinth itself. But, the tank's hatch was welded close.

The community Lalendorf is situated along the B104, between Güstrow and Teterow. Lalendorf also has its own train station along an important railway line, something very rare these days.
